I have always hated birthdays - well, not all birthdays, but my own birthdays.

The attention, expectation, and disappointment that come with this day leave me with a sour but also sweet taste.

To explore the tensions between the sweet and sour aspects of birthdays, I have created a series of photographs.

These photos are compiled in a book called dob - Date of Birth."
